Hometown Six

Here is Febraury's Hometown Six.

1. A picture of Village office-- The Lincoln County Courthouse and North Platte city offices.

2. A Main Street- Jeffers street looking south from the viaduct over the Union Pacific tracks. This is a crummy view of the city, but it is one of the main drags in town.

3. Public Transit. This NPPT bus is mainly used by disabled and mentally handicapped. North Platte isn't really big enough for a real bus service.

4a. A Shopping Center- The Platte River Mall recently got a facelift. Some people say that the new facade is a magnificent erection. The Phallicness on the outside is hardly compensation for what the mall lacks on the inside.

4b. Inside The Mall. When I worked at Radio Shack, we called it "The Hall." You can see from one end to the other. Its pretty lame. The real shopping center in town is the WalMart Supercenter.

5. Cultural Center or Theater... The Neville Center.
6. The Police/ Police Station- Also Fire Station #1.
