A quiet week

It has been a relatively quiet week this week. I only went out on a few transports. My birthday came and went with out too much hoorah. I got some of the obligatory cards, email, and phone calls. My favorite gift was a lamp with jazz musicians on the base.

My jazz group is playing for the 50th anniversary gala for the North Platte Opportunity Center. We'll start practicing seriously for that sometime soon here.

24

Today is my last day at this age.
My birthday is tomorrow. I'll be 25 years old.
By now I would have thought I'd be married and had kids, but I guess that didn't happen.
I don't think I could've owned my own house by now, though, but I do.

Tomorrow I turn 25. I'll be a quarter-century old.
I don't feel that old. I still feel pretty young.
Youth is a relative term. The majority of the people I work with, and patients I attend to, keep my feeling young. In truth, I am one of the youngest people who work for our company. The majority of our patients are older than me, too. I have much to learn from them.

I look forward to being 25.

Long Road Behind

People always talk about "the long road ahead," but how often do we think about the long road behind us. It is sometime interesting to think back and see how far you've come. Do you remember what you were doing ten years ago? five years ago? last year?

My suggestion... Think about the "Long Road Behind" and remember everything you've been through. It should help you cope on your journey down the long road ahead.

Rendering unto Caesar...Bleu Cheese Dressing

Tis the season to start thinking about taxes.
One of the joys of homeownership is getting to pay property taxes. Then comes the IRS taxes, and then state income taxes. This year, I should be getting money back from both the state and the federal government. I tend to overpay every year.

While taxes seem to be a necessity, it would be nice to have more of a say where the money went. My taxes go to pay for a lot of things that I wouldn't out of my own money want to pay for.

Also, I have developed a tasted for Bleu Cheese Dressing. It is especially good on chicken wings and french fries. People look at me funny when I ask for a side of bleu chees dressing, but then I explain to them that I happen to like it. I seem to be a minority among such things.

Taxes, Bleu Chees Dressing, your comments are welcome.
