Backward-Looking-Forward

Here I am, sitting at the library checking my email and stuff. I noticed I hadn't updated lately.

I survived the bike ride for MDA. I actually was only able to ride the Saturday portion of the trip arround Lake McConnaughy. It was wet, cold, and miserable the whole day. My legs gave out about six miles from our campsite. All told, though, I did about 65 miles that day. Up and down hills, in the cold and rain.

"The Hatchbacks" played a major gig on Monday night. We played for the 86th Annaul North Platte Area Chamber of Commerce banquet. If you watched KNOP-TV news that night, you would have seen and heard us. We are looking forward to more requests for us to play now. Playing Monday night was a great opportunity for us to be heard by some very prominent people and business leaders in the community.

This week is the Berean Fellowship of Churches national convention. It is also being held here in North Platte, NE. I'm trying to get in on as many of the sessions as I can. I have been asked to play on the worship team for the Thursday night session. There are people from all over the country here in town for it.

Next week I start taking a Hospice Care class. I hope I am able to be at most of them. Also next week starts practice for the North Platte Community Playhouse "Little Shop of Horrors" production for which I'll be playing bass in the pit.

October 22nd marks the beginning of the new symphony season with our first rehearsal for our winter concert. The concert is December 10th. See you there.

MD Bike Ride

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will probably be the longest days of ly life. I take to the highway on my bicycle to ride 180 or so miles for Muscular Dystrohy Association. I am doing the rid with about 6 other guys. We bike from here to Ogallala Friday, around Lake McConoughey (sp?) on Saturday, and back to North Platte on Sunday. Thats right folks, I am skipping church to ride my bike. My responsibilities at church are taken care of, and this trip will be a good chance for me to pour into the lives of some of the guys in my same career field, fire-fighters and paramedics.

Have you heard the music yet?
