Yule Be Bruvin, Tu

My Christmas concert was last night at Da Buzz CoffeeHouse here in North Platte. I put it on for people in the area. I had invited a lot of people from work and church, but it was also advertised in the newspaper and music store. It pretty much packed out the place. It was fun.

This year, it was just solo piano stuff. It was too late to get the quartet back together to practice much and the other guys already had too much on their plates. So I played solo. 15 songs. Some traditional stuff, some not-so-traditional stuff, some jazzy, some smooth, and even some songs that weren't really Christmas songs, but were appropriate in other ways.

To those who came, thanks for coming and support me and music in the area.

Christmas plans? Working. I get to go back to WY to see friends and family over the New Year weekend. At least that is the plan.

"White-Knuckling-It"

Thats my new phrase for driving in adverse conditions. I just finished white-knuckling-it to McCook for Paramedic class which starts soon. I always drop by the library so I can check email first.

It snow a few inches over the weekend. Thats nothing really. But today the wind came up. The 70 miles between North Platte and McCook became one big patch of ice. The road warmed up during the day. The snow blowing across it stuck and froze. Makes for some interesting driving.
