Long Week and a much-needed break

I am out Maranatha Bible Camp, working on my day off. Can't say it is too much work, though. I am relaxing in the staff lounge using the staff computer to update by blog that I haven't updated in over a week. I am hoping that my pager doesn't go off. If it does, it means that someone is sick, hurt, or that there is bodily fluid to clean up. Since there aren't too many people out this weekend so it should be pretty quiet.

Being out here is a nice break from work. This week has been a busy on for Midwest Medical Transport. A run to Omaha, Denver, and a couple trips to the burn center in Lincoln made for a week packed with hours on the road and what will be a fat paycheck to show for it sometime next week.

Between posts passed the holidays Canada Day and Independance day. I love both the USA and Canada, having lived in both, but I would have to say that I like the Fourth of July in America better than I like Canada Day in Canada. The USA is a more patiotic nation and uses its national holiday to celebrate freedom and patriotism far more than our counterparts to the north. Canadians tend to celebrate by inbibing large amounts of alcoholic beverages. Americans do it too, but to a lesser extent. Canadians seem to make every excuse they can to have a "long weekend" on which to party. I always used the long weekend to sleep a little extra, something I could benefit from right now.

I'll be out at the camp til about 9:30pm or so. Then I go home to get some sleep before Sunday morning. Sleep is sweet.
